Wine cellar “Vinaria” is located in the old part of Izmail and offers local Bessarabian wine and organic vinegars from their own small family winery, as well as traditional Bessarabian cuisine.
The institution was founded in 2017 in an old Bessarabian house next to the Izmail Historical Museum and the Holy Intercession Cathedral, 3 km from the Izmail Fortress. The old cellar style, vintage decor, art forging and designer furniture are harmoniously intertwined here.
The institution offers exclusively dry wines of Western European varieties, as well as original wormwood wine according to the recipe of local ethnic Bulgarians. The wines are made by hand byclassic technologies on modern Italian equipment.
On order for tourist groups, complex dinners-tasting of traditional Bessarabian dishes are offered.
For tastings it is proposed:
– 3 positions of white and 3 positions of red wines, 30 ml each + 1 glass (150 ml) of the wine you like;
– 50 g of local cheese (Bessarabian feta cheese, sheep cheese, cow cheese)
– 50 g kavarma (Bessarabian cold lamb dish);
– wine yeast bread.
Tastings run from 1:30 to 1:40 hours. Provides a short guided tour of the wine cellar. During the tasting, children are offered grape juice of own production.
