TOUR PROGRAM:

Day 1

Group meeting at the station, accommodation in a comfortable transport;

Sightseeing tour of Odessa (bus and walking tour);

You will visit historic sites and ancient streets of the city: Deribasovskaya, Pushkinskaya, Richelievskaya and Lanzheronovskaya; masterpiece of architecture – Opera and Ballet Theatre, as well as historic buildings, where now  the Archaeological and Naval museums located; after that you will be able to walk through the cozy Primorsky Boulevard, will see the historical building of current City Council, the palace of Earl Vorontsov with a colonnade, a monument to Duke de Richelieu and the famous Potemkin Stairs, the main entrance to the seaside boulevard from the sea. Enjoy a wonderful view overlooking the harbor station and Ekaterininskaya square.

Day 2

European cheese factory: excursion and tasting of eco-cheeses made in strict compliance with the technologies of the Dutch cheese-makers.

This is a new, modern cheese factory, built according to the European model, in combination of the newest and authentic equipment from Holland, with original Dutch technologies and Ukrainian cheesemakers. Only Dutch live sourdoughs are used, which give the cheese a special originality, texture and delicate cheese flavor. The use of latex and paraffin coating provides the cheese proper maturation, giving him the opportunity to breathe. Cheese factory has a closed production cycle, from the cultivation of feed to the processing of raw milk and the final product – high-quality cheese.

During its 2500-year existence, the city of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky has acquired a rich history, has experienced many historical eras, its numerous names indicate frequent movement and population change, but the banks of the fast Dniester have always been densely populated.

The history of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky begins from the end of the 6th century. BC, when people from the Asia Minor city of Miletus on the west bank of the Dniester River founded the city of Ofiussu – Tiru. The remains of the ancient Tyra, located on the site of the present Belgorod-Dniester are a unique monument of history and culture. In the XII century Belgorod is part of the principality of Galicia-Volyn, since 1214 – under the rule of the Hungarian kingdom. At the end of the XIV century the city is part of the Moldavian state and is referred to as Chetatya-Albe. It becomes its main port and capital of the southern provinces of Moldova. By this time, the construction of a powerful fortress, one of the outstanding and interesting monuments of the defensive architecture of the Middle Ages, is completed. The construction of such a fortification was primarily due to political instability in the province. Excursion to the Catacombs of Odessa

Odessa catacombs are fanned by many mysteries and legends. These are underground passages of various origin and destination. Most of the Odessa catacombs are old mines, quarries (~ 95%) of which mined stone for the construction of the city. Also, the Odessa catacombs include drainage tunnels, “mines” – ancient cellars for various purposes, military bunkers, all kinds of mysterious underground passages and real natural caves. Understand the interweaving of underground cavities of different origin, it is sometimes difficult even to Odessans themselves. Dungeons store interesting traces of bygone eras of city life. WARNING:
1. Since the temperature in the catacombs is year-round 12-14 degrees, it is necessary to have appropriate outerwear and comfortable shoes with you;

2. The entrance to the catacombs in a drunken state is STRONGLY FORBIDDEN!

Excursions with tasting at the National Scientific Center “Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking named V.E. Tairov” (there are 14 exclusive types of wines at the tasting, what doesn’t present at markets)

Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking  V. Tairova was established in 1905 as an experimental farm “Wine-making station of Russian wine-growers and wine-makers”. The initiator of its creation was the editor of the magazine “Bulletin of Winemaking”, enthusiast of the development of the culture of viticulture – V. Tairov. At the initial stage a small basement was equipped, a library was assembled. In the period from 1910 to 1912 on the shores of the Sukhoi Estuary, the construction of the station complex was completed, and an experienced vineyard (3 hectares) was laid and a vaccination workshop was built. In 1931, the station was reorganized into the Ukrainian Research Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking. To its 100th anniversary, a museum of viticulture and winemaking was opened, telling about the main directions of development of the national wine-making school.
